Try swapping the black and orange connectors, I thought my set was broken but after swapping those plugs it worked great.

Setup is easy with all the wires color codded. I noticed that the front left cord is a bit short.
A great feature is there is a separate volume and power are on the front right speaker compared to a pod, which quit working in my last set.

The sound is amazingly clear and the subwoofer has a good kick to it. Even though the subwoofer is off the floor, I still felt the bass in the floor.

Most sound card will have a sound manager for setting up and testing speakers. Check the manufactures website for an updated driver and/or manager. A good test for any 5.1 speakers, are finding THX or Dolby surround sound files on the Internet. Some files are for testing bass and others are for testing the surround sound feature.

One thing I did notice, that 5.1 speaker systems are becoming more difficult to find. Most stores, local and the large box stores, only carry one or two systems and they are usually not setup as a demo.
